Who am I?
Hello Internet. I am Paul F. Ferguson. This is my blog. I include the F. because I want to distinguish myself slightly from all the other Paul Fergusons on the internet, of which there are many. It also deservedly puts me in the company of other such presidential fellows such as Chester A. Arthur and John Q. Adams.
I currently live in Glasgow, Scotland. It's okay. I wouldn't mind living somewhere else though.
I use this blog to post things of various interest including thoughts, interests, music reviews, game reviews, photos, whatever I feel like. Sometimes I talk about my life, but it's not that interesting, so mostly other stuff.
I am going to redesign it in 2011, mark my words.

Final Fantasy XII
This is an odd one. Professional reviewers everywhere loved it. Final Fantasy fanatics however were split down the middle. The legacy of Final Fantasy VII is that every time a new Final Fantasy comes out, it’s judged by how far … Continue reading

Sunn O))) – Monoliths & Dimensions
It finally arrived. About three weeks ago. After years of waiting for a new Sunn O))) record, here it is. For this review, I thought I’d do some song-by-song observations, because on a four track album that kind of makes … Continue reading

Braid
So, I got Braid last week. Mind blowing. So what is Braid? Well, Braid is an independently produced “videogame” by a “man” named “Jonathan Blow”. It’s a 2D platformer on the surface, drawing heavily on classics like Super Mario Bros, … Continue reading

Daybreak Part 2
Okay, I admit it, I cried. More than once. I mean sure, it was one massively indulgent Deus Ex Machina, but it was a frakking beautiful fulfilment of everything the show was. There goes Battlestar Galactica. So say we all.

Control: A Historical Review of Joypads
That is by far the geekiest title for a post I have ever made, and I only hope the full 3000-word text lives up to that expectation. You see, I thought I’d do something different today. Rather than review an … Continue reading

The Stares – Spine to Sea
Prone as I am to momentary spending whims, and obsessive as I am about good independent music, it should probably come as no surprise that I often place an orders to independent labels, primarily in North America. Web of Mimicry … Continue reading

Pink Floyd – Atom Heart Mother
Something that bothers me about Pink Floyd’s recent resurgence in popularity is that it tends to fall into one of two camps. One camp is the Syd Barrett Appreciation Society, who like the first album Piper at the Gates of … Continue reading

Slipknot – Slipknot
So here’s a blast from the past. It’s been at least six or seven years since I stopped listening to Slipknot, my former favourite band. Basically, I grew out of that phase of my life, and inevitably I moved on … Continue reading

Five Songs (that are “pretty”, in almost conventional terms)
Sunn O))) & Boris – The Sinking Belle (Blue Sheep) Altar (Southern Lord 2006) When Altar, the fully collaborative meeting of Sunn O))) and Boris, was announced, it was sort of implied that it was sound like both bands combined … Continue reading

Faith No More – Angel Dust
Faith No More are, curiously enough, a recent discovery for me. I mean, I’ve known about them for years, but it wasn’t until this year I actually bothered to actually listen to them. A lot of Mr. Bungle fans come … Continue reading
